Hubby and I watched the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump this morning, before hubby had to go to work. I have to say, it was a great day. I truly believe someone who knows how to run a business can get our country back on a positive track again. He’s smart enough to put in place people who are best qualified for their positions to get the job done, even if they don’t completely agree with him. If they don’t get the job done, President Trump isn’t afraid to tell them You’re Fired, and put the next person in place to get the job done. I had high hopes for Obama, voted for him the first time around, but I was disappointed again and again. This time, I hope President Trump far exceeds all expectations and gets this country going in the right direction. Yes, he’s not politically correct, but if he gets the job done, that doesn’t matter in the least.
I was pleasantly surprised by his wife Melania. Her fashion choices were absolutely perfect for the occasions–elegant, sophisticated, evoking a sense of a bygone era. For those criticizing some of the things she had done in the past, look in your own damned closet. Have you ever taken questionable pictures? Engaged in activities unbecoming of polite society? Then shut your mouth. “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” When you are sin-free, you can then judge others. Until then, sit down and shut up. She’s intelligent, has risen from humble beginnings, is well-traveled, has been an independent businesswoman long before she met her husband, has been a good wife and a good mother. I’ll give her a chance to make a positive mark in her newest endeavor, as the FLOTUS.
I have high hopes for the President and this country. May he rise above everyone’s expectations, and may the country see a revival beyond their wildest dreams.
