Yes, today has been a perfect day. They don’t happen often, but when they do, their simplicity, the perfection, is beyond anything you could have asked for. This week has been stormy, rainy–a total of approximately 3-1/2 inches of rain, more than an inch of which happened after midnight last night. The pouring rain, the lightning, the thunder, as well as a power outage set the tone from the prior afternoon that had been heavy with humidity, temperatures in the 80s, the barometer falling forewarning the storms that were to come. Morning came, and the temperature was borderline cold, but it was sunny.
The normal view from my kitchen window:
Here are a few pictures of steam rising from the fence in the back this morning, the cold air contrasting with the moisture and heat from the day before.
The roses are happy:
Given the history of Texas weather, i.e. give it a few minutes and it’ll change, the afternoon brought temperatures in the upper 80s…HOT. What’s a girl to do? Why, grill some meat, of course!
Some awesome barbecue sauce:

It’s been a good day. Add in some Velveeta macaroni and cheese, a casserole made with spinach, cauliflower and broccoli with beef consomme and cream of mushroom soup, some Shiner Bock for hubby, a little Jameson for myself and Mexican Coke for the munchkin, and you’ve got one fine supper for a perfect spring day.
Hope your day has been just as great…
