My brain is melting

What happens when summer drags on too long?

  • The heat is oppressive—I can’t go out and play in the dirt.

  • The air is heavy, dusty—no rain to wash the crud away.

  • I look in the mirror and see silver threading through my hair.

  • Trapped in the rut of summer, I begin thinking about things—what makes me happy, what irritates the crap out of me, how time is flying by.

  • And the final question—what can I do about it?

Maybe it’s time for my own leap of faith.
